Dear loyal supporter of St. Francis,

Through the years, you have stood with us to create a very special night for ladies in our community to come out for fellowship, shopping, and breast health awareness to support the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health. We are so blessed by your kindness and generosity. You enabled us to have an event of this magnitude by your unwavering support. After much consideration and conversation, we have decided to sunset this very meaningful gathering. We always want to be good stewards for the dollars that are contributed to the ministry and ensure many of these funds reaches the beneficiary – breast health screenings for those who are marginalized and do not have access to care.

However, before we draw the curtain on Pearls and Pumps, we want to celebrate the impact this incredible event has had on those we serve past, present and for generations to come – only made possible by you. Since the inception of Pearls and Pumps thousands of ladies in our community have gained a greater understanding of breast health and the importance of yearly screenings. This event provided for 919 mammograms, as well as hundreds of other necessary procedures such as diagnostic mammograms, ultrasound, MRI’s, and biopsies. These procedures were provided by the over $260,000 contributed from this gathering over the past nine years – what a difference you have made.

Below are talking points that will help direct you with any questions you may have regarding Pearls and Pumps and next steps.

What is happening: With heavy hearts we have decided not to host Pearls & Pumps, scheduled for October 8th, 2024.

Why is it happening: Supporting the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health was exceptionally challenging this year. The volunteer host committee was unwavering in their dedication to produce an event of the caliber needed to celebrate survivors, promote breast health awareness, and fundraise for vital services. The event was met by increased expenses related to inflation and a community overwhelmed with opportunities to support breast health during this month of recognition.

What if I was a committed sponsor, vendor, or ticket holder? Please contact us at your earliest convenience to discuss your opportunities to transfer your support, have your support acknowledged alternatively, or proceed with a reimbursement. Debra_richardson@bshsi.org

How can I continue to support the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health? The need to support the critical access and compassionate care provided by St. Francis and the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health is never-ending. You can always make a gift in honor of or in memory of a loved one who has been touched by breast cancer. Your gift will directly impact your family, your friends, neighbors and loved ones as they continue to benefit from having outstanding care close to home.
